Ctrl-Shift-0 unhides any columns that are hidden within the currently selected cells. Any columns that were previously unhidden within the selection are not changed.
There is an issue when running Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 that means the operating system intercepts the Ctrl-Shift-0 shortcut so it does not work in Excel. Click read more to see how to overcome this.
The following thread has the solution for Windows 7: http://superuser.com/questions/183197/whats-the-keyboard-shortcut-to-unhide-a-column-in-excel-2010
In Windows 8 the solution is a little different, so I list it here for completeness:
- Control Panel
- Clock, Language and Region
- Language
- Advanced Settings
- Change language bar hot keys (in the "Switching input methods" section)
- On the Advanced Key Settings tab, make sure "Between input languages" is selected and press the Change Key Sequence... button
- Set the Switch Keyboard Layout radio button to Not Assigned
